99 Seconds of Change Project
During this project
STEP 1:
First we had to picking a modern day world issue that we were passionate about. I choose The Great Pacific Garbage Patch because I was upset that EPA (US Environmental Protection Agency) wasn't doing enough about this huge problem and that our society is unaware of how big of a deal it is. I was also interested to learn more about this issue. STEP 2: The next step was to research about our topic. The key in this step was to find strong sources that could back our opinion up, this means sources ending in .edu or .gov. Below is my fact sheet on the great pacific garbage patch. |
STEP 3:
The third step was to compose a business letter to a specific person or company. I wrote my business letter to Jared Blumenfeld who is San Diego's EPA representative. Unfortunately I haven't gotten any responses yet from EPA.

STEP 4:
After everyone individually wrote a business letter we got in pairs and picked one of the two topics. I paired up with Cricket. Her topic was originally helping to save the endangered tigers. We decided the great pacific garbage patch would be a more entertaining topic to do a video on.
