Elements of Art Cube
The elements of art are defined as the visual components used by artists to create a work of art. The six elements are lines, shape, form, space, color, and texture and value. In this project we demonstrated our knowledge of the elements by displaying are creative designs on a cute little cube. Below you can see all of me drawings that represent a different part of the elements of art.
LinesA Line is a mark that is horizontal, vertical, or diagonal; straight or curved; thick or thin. Here I used different color lines to draw a pretty fairy on a mushroom.
SpaceSpace is the area between and around objects. In visual art, when we create
the feeling or illusion of depth, we call it space. This is probably my favorite side of the cube. It depicts an illusion of a tree with curly branches and the sky or elephant (if you look closely).

ShapeShapes are two-dimensional, closed lines, figures. They can be geometric or organic. Here I used a mixture of organic and geometric shapes to create this peaceful butterfly in the middle of chaos.
ColorColor has three main characteristics: hue (the color or shade), value (how light or dark it is), and intensity (how bright or dull it is). In my piece I drew a silhouette of a whale tale in the sun set.

FormForm is three-dimensional shapes. In my picture I drew a bright red hot air balloon with depth to make it three-dimensional with a grey sky to make it pop out.
Texture and ValueTexture is the feeling, appearance, or consistency of a surface or a substance and value is the lightness or darkness of tones or colors. In my drawing the bubbles are texture and the background shading from light to dark is value.

Reflection
I have always enjoyed art, this project gave me a more in depth look at the values in art pieces. Overall I really enjoyed doing this project. My favorite part was all the great feedback I got from my peers at the end of the project. Something I struggled with is how many times we had to do peer edits on one side of the cube. It was frustrating because no one was giving me helpful and useful critiques.
