Investigation
This part of my digital portfolio will highlight some of the activities or investigations that we do in our Math/Physics class.
Penny Lab
In the penny lab we got in groups of three and Nicole gave us a bag of 25 pennies. We then had to find the measures of center and spread by using their mint year (thats the year that they were released). The measure of center are mean, median, and mode. The measure of spread is basically the 5 number summary which is Interquartile 1 (Q1), Median, Interquartile 3 (Q3), Interquartile Range (IQR), and Range. In the Penny Lab I learned all about finding the measures of center and spread. From there I learned how to use it to make box and whisker plots and interpret what my data meant.

Barbie Bungee
In the Barbie Bungee Lab we got in groups of three and Nicole gave us a Barbie. The objective was to give Barbie the greatest thrill while still ensuring that she is safe. This means that she should come as close as possible to the ground without hitting the floor. We then got started on making are prediction of rubber bands, we got a piece of white board with a measuring tape going down it. We had to measure how far the barbie would descend with 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8 rubber bands and make a linear equation so we could guess how many rubber bands we needed for the height of HTHMA Stairs. Below is a video of my friends barbie bungee jumping:

Race Track Game
In the Race Track Game we got paired up with the person sitting next to us and got a graph paper with a race track drawn out like the one to the left. The objective of the game is the first person who makes it all around the coarse wins. This game was mainly to get a feel for changing velocities and physical limits on acceleration. I noticed when I was playing it required some foresight and skill. For example you have to slow down before curves in the roads to avoid from crashing into the wall.
