Scratch Game Project
Reflection
When choosing a tutorial I was surprised by how much fun it was playing all the games to decide which one to make. I knew I wanted to do something original that no one else was going to do and I also knew that it had to be related to fat unicorns but other than that I was open to any of the endless possibilities. The original game I chose to make was a pong game on flash. Although I did have some experience with coding before this project, flash was very confusing for me and I felt lost. I than decided maybe scratch was a better alternative for me. It is visual, since it is a website I can work on it at home, and the code is easier to read and understand (in my opinion). I searched around and played different scratch games, until I encountered one that I thought had true potential, called TWIST.
After picking my game I started editing the code to suit my needs. My biggest frustration in the editing process was trying to change the green character to be a unicorn and the green arch to be a rainbow. Unfortunately as you can see from my game it didn't work. This I later found out (after pulling my hair out 5,000 times), is because the code was dependent on the fact that the color of the character and arch were green. The code in short said, that when a white triangle hits the green character the game will end and when it hits the green arch it will disappear. This made it so that it had to be the color green as well as its exact size. Granting this was very frustrating and took way to long to realize I learned as Chris says, "It is ok to give up on somethings, if you tried and if it helps you move forward in what your doing to make it even better."
Even though my game wasn't exactly how I envisioned it, it still turned out amazing. A success I had was changing the home page. I know it sounds simple but it really was a challenge. Originally the theme was all dark but of course being my happy rainbow sparkle self I needed to make it joyful and filled with fat unicorns. It took me a while to design the new home page and mess with the code so it would work, but it was totally worth it.
Overall my classmates loved my game. They were impressed with how unique and challenging it was. During the game carnival a lot of students couldn't stop playing and just wanted to keep beating friends or their highest score. I am very proud of my game and I hope a lot more people get the opportunity to play it.

Code Modifications
The code in scratch is a bit different from the code in flash (which is what most people used to create their games). In scratch their is separate code for each character, enemy, or words. It is also a lot more visual which I enjoyed. I changed a lot of the code up but below are the two main changes:
Image Modifications
Grading Myself
I honestly believe I earn a ten, because of the effort I put toward this game as well as the originality and creativity of my game. My game is playable, glitch free, I modified the code, and I believe it is fun to play. One thing I struggled with was personalizing the images because the code that was created on scratch and would not allow for it. So instead I changed the homepage, background color, and font. Although this was a challenge I think I did a pretty good job at making it personal.
